Fifty Cent Special

I want a comfy, cozy cottage-style home. What do I have? A regular ranch that is ready for a makeover. Thrifty and vintage treasures will be the creative core of my new challenge for the cottage look and feel. What fun! I'm ready so let's go!

See the picture above? Not my kitchen, just great inspiration!
I want to add some vintage fun to my cottage kitchen and what better way to do so than pops of color in dishes and accessories. So today I thought I'd share my Thursday with a find from this past weekend's flea market.

Look at these aqua apple dishes from Belmar of California.
USA made!

Not too much info is available on this company,
but these dishes are from the 1950's - 1960's.
All five dishes for 50 cents!

A pop of fun color, a fantabulous price, and a great start for my cottage kitchen. This is a new journey for me so any advice or feedback is appreciated. Thanks for stopping by!

Please take the time to visit all my friends' thrifty and vintage finds hosted by ColoradoLady of Vintage Thingies Thursday and Liegh of Thrifty Thursday.

There are so many great books on decorating in that style, Cottage Style by Better H&G is one...Victoria's older books are great too! I think the Shabby Chic books will have inspiration... can you tell I love that look?

Love those apple dishes!!!

I think you will be very successful turning a ranch into a cozy cottage look.

Of course, look who's talkin' - - - MY decor style is eclectic - - - which means if it's comfortable, it's IN.
